Tattoo Aftercare
The aftercare of your tattoo really determines the way your tattoo looks when it is fully healed.
Tips & Instructions
Wear your clear adhesive bandage for a minimum of 24 hours, or the recommended time of five days. During this time, you can still Carry on with your normal daily routines (go to work, go to the gym, outdoor activities, shower regularly etc) as long as it does not cause any irritation to your healing tattoo.
Avoid the water
Do not swim in a pool or hot tub for at least 2 weeks.
When removing the clear adhesive bandage, we recommend that you remove it in a hot shower. Allow hot water to enter the top of the bandage by peeling off the top corner. From there carefully grab a piece of the bandage and slowly pull it down and away from your skin.
Wash your tattoo
Wash your tattoo by lathering your hands with hot soapy water and gently washing the tattoo and surrounding areas clean. Refrain from using any type of bar soap or scented soap.
Gently pat dry with a paper towel. Do you not rub back-and-forth.
Wait a few minutes after pat drying and then apply a very thin layer of Lubriderm or unscented lotion to your tattoo. You should have no buildup of lotion on your tattoo. Do not over moisturize as this could negatively affect the healing process.
Take care of it
Wear loose clothing over your tattoo to avoid any rubbing that may pull off scabs.
Do not pick scabs. This will cause your tattoo to bleed and will pull ink out of your skin.
We recommend that you to wash your tattoo 2-3 times daily and reapply unscented lotion as instructed above until your tattoo has fully healed.
After its healed
After the tattoo is fully healed, you may want to wear sunscreen when spending long periods of time in direct sunlight to keep it looking bright and new. Do not put any sunscreen on your tattoo that has not fully healed.
